Junia, A Noteworthy Person - Romans 16:7
Junia - Was she an apostle?
7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
The name Junia could refer to a man or woman. Whoever Junia was, Junia was noteworthy. Junia and Andronicus were not apostles, but were known to the apostles as remarkable (of note) and highly respected by the apostles.
NLT: "Greet Andronicus and Junia,[a] my fellow Jews,[b] who were in prison with me. They are highly respected among the apostles and became followers of Christ before I did."
